I love networking – it really helps to counteract the isolation of working from home. In recent weeks I’ve met up with a few freelancers and been interested to hear about the different ways people work and the tools they use.
One tool that I came across through a conversation with a participant on a training course is the reference management software Zotero. Unlike the other referencing programs I’m familiar with (e.g. Endnote and Reference Manager), Zotero is free. Last week I finally had time to try it out and was really impressed. I particularly like the way it can be used to manage links to websites. I’ll be writing about it in my next article for the Canberra Society of Editors’ newsletter.
